In an effort to further enhance the passenger experience and save valuable cabin space, Royal Caribbean International announced today that they are implementing an excess shoe charge on all embarking passengers. All guests cabins will be audited on the second day by stateroom attendants and any guest found with more than three pairs of shoes will have a nominal charge of $25 PER SHOE added to their SeaPass Account.
"We at Royal Caribbean are always trying to come up with innovative ways to enhance the passenger experience," said Richard Fain, Chairman of Royal Caribbean International. He went on to say that feedback from stateroom attendants indicated "foul odors emanating from cabins with multiple shoes is a constant battle of wills and air fresheners".
Implementation of this fleet-wide program will commence on 01 April 2008.
